Action is better than inaction.

You might find yourself in a situation where you need to make a decision. Perhaps a new technology you need to bring into your project, perhaps whether or not to deliver a half solution in favour of a fast release, or how to mitigate the effect of an incident. Whatever it might be, you need to make a decision. At this point, many people get stuck while over analysing the options and take too long to make the call. The results vary depending on the situation, but it always end with your team waiting for a decision and unable to move forward.

Just make a decision. Once you eliminate the crazy options, there’s no bad decision — only trade offs. If the trade offs are similar in weight, pick one option and go for it. You can always go back and iterate. Act instead of over analyse.
